A Book on" Early Cook Forest State Park" Published
A new book about the early days of Cook Forest was recently published by James T. MacBeth. MacBeth, owner of the MacBeth Cabins in Cook Forest. James MacBeth is a fourth generation descendent of the Cook Family. His great- great grandmother was Ellen Cook. This book came about at the urging from one of their employees’, Nancy Skeddle, who works in the their Gift Shop. Nancy told James of countless inquiries as to the history of the MacBeths’ of Cook Forest. He realized it was time to put something down on paper.

One of the many photos you will find in the MacBeth's book on Early Cook Forest.
With the help of his Mother, Nellie, they talked of their early life here with his Father, Jack. She had family photographs and post cards that Jim’s Grandparents had passed on to her and he began his search for as much information on the area and people as he could find.
The new soft covered book, “Early Cook Forest State Park”, The Area Visited Through Post Cards and Photographs, contains 112 page pages of history, photographs, postcards a little poetry and some park statistics. There are photos of the parks animals, trails, winter scenes, roads, buildings and rivers.
The book is on sale for $20 at the MacBeth’s Gift Shop in Cook’s Forest. It is also available at the Book Nook in Clarion.
After doing all the research for this book MacBeth realized that all the information should be divided into two separate sets of materials and he plans to follow up within a few months on a second book on the MacBeth Family.
The book was published by Staab Typographic, Emlenton, PA.
