Beels & Son, Inc.” This insurance agency has a long robust history (over 114 years) of filling a broad array of insurance needs, while delivering superior customer service not only to the Knox area residents & businesses; they are a well-known insurance provider to many all over N/W Pennsylvania.

Emlenton Echoes 4-H Members Recognized


The Emlenton Echoes 4-H Club has several members who have been recognized for there accomplishments.
Kelsey Ziegler and Kevin Riddle were given the Outstanding Girl and Boy award for emerging leaders sponsored by the Titusville News Herald at the Leadership Dinner in March.
MaryBeth Hutchinson was also awarded the Outstanding Leader award for 2013-2014.

Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board Lowers License Fee for Tavern Gaming Licenses


Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) today unanimously voted to lower the license fee of a Tavern Gaming License from $2,000 to $500.
The move resulted from a recent legislative change that allowed the PLCB to drop the license fee to a minimum of $500. The new fee structure applies to all new Tavern Gaming License applicants and to three applicants who have yet to pay the license fee.

Shippenville Borough Celebrates 125 Years

Shippenville Borough celebrated its 125th Anniversary on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the Shippenville Fire Hall. The historic celebration was held at Noon to 3:00 PM.

Pa. Turnpike to Raise Speed Limit to 70 mph on Stretch of Toll Highway Next Week


New speed limit starts July 23 between Blue Mountain and Morgantown interchanges.
HARRISBURG, PA. (JULY 18, 2014) – The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) announced today that a 70 mph speed limit will be put in place on a 100-mile stretch of toll road in the south-central part of the state next week. The 70-mph zone will be on the Turnpike mainline (Interstate 76) between the Blue Mountain Interchange (exit #201) and the Morgantown Interchange (exit #298) starting July 23.

Redbank Valley Trail Named "Pennsylvania'a Trail of the Year"


Clarion County Trails Association invites you to attend Outdoor Adventures 2014 . . . A celebration of the Redbank Valley Trail being named “Pennsylvania’s Trail of the Year”, by D-C-N-R, on Saturday, August 9th at Gumtown Park in New Bethlehem. Events start at 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Events include a community yard sale, a bicycle poker run, geocaching, a hike to climax tunnel, fishing tournament, wine tasting, corn hole games, craft vendors, food, awards ceremony, and live music with D-J Dan, the Rebank Valley High School Marching Band, and the Bluegrass Sounds of the Keister Family Band.

"Incrediworld Amazement Park" was the theme for Vacation Bible School at Grace E.C. Church (2561 Grace Church road in Ninevah) held June 9-13, 2014.
The children learned:How long ago was the time? When time began? What in the world is a worldview? Can your view of Creation affect your view of the gospel? Does every creature have a Creator? Are dinosaurs in the Bible?

East Brady Riverfest This Weekend


East Brady Area Riverfest is finally here. This is the weekend we’ve all been waiting for. There are some new things. (see schedule on right for complete times and dates). On Saturday there will be a 5k run / 1 mile walk, starting at the boat launch and running along the Allegheny River. It is $25 per runner and $15 per walker.
