On July 23 at Concord Presbyterian Church 'Miracles From Heaven' will be shown in an outdoor setting under the stars for all to enjoy. This is a newly released movie and rated PG. Food will be available and the movie is free, but we are asking for each person coming to bring a can of food for the Perry Township Food Bank. Bring you lawn chair and a friend for this wonderful night of family, fun, and fellowship! Hope to see you. Doors open at 8 with movie beginning at dusk. If it rains the movie will be shown indoors.

 A paint class will be held on April 23 at 5:00 P.M. at the Emlenton VFD. It'll be fun and it's for all artistic levels.

The cost is $35 per person and includes all supplies and step by step instructions.

The paint class will be conducted by Steele's Brushes & Lushes.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Emlenton Vol. Fire Department.


Head Start, Early Head Start and Pre-K Celebrates Week of the Young Child


Jefferson-Clarion Head Start, Inc. invites local communities to join in celebrating "THE WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD" that will be held April 11- 15, 2016. The theme of the week is "Celebrating Our Youngest Learners". The purpose of this week is to inform the public about early childhood programs and to recognize the importance and benefits of early intervention. Additionally, it is a time to draw attention to the needs of young children and their families and plan how to better care for all young children.

CVF County Farm Bureau Scholarships Awarded


Seven scholarships were awarded by lottery to area students at the Spring Meeting of the CVF County Farm Bureau.  There were 34 applicants from local Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members.

Perdue Foods LLC, Recalls Chicken Nugget Product Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination

WASHINGTON, March 5, 2016 – Perdue Foods LLC, a Gainesville, Ga. establishment, is recalling approximately 4,530pounds of chicken nugget products (produced for Applegate Farms) that may be contaminated with extraneous plasticmaterials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Saturday.

Churches open for ‘24 Hours for the Lord'

Year of Mercy

Seven churches in the Diocese of Erie that have been designated as pilgrimage sites during the Holy Year of Mercy will celebrate “24 Hours for the Lord,” an initiative of the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization.

The event is designed to welcome not only the active faithful, but also those estranged from the Catholic Church. The designated churches will mark the 24-hour period March 4-5 with special services. The initiative focuses on the sacrament of reconciliation and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
