Farmers National Bank Donates $15,000 to Emlenton VFD

Emlenton, Pennsylvania, October 6, 2014 – The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently donated $15,000 to the Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department. This donation will help support the costs incurred while expanding the current fire station located at 410 Main Street in Emlenton.

On August 30, 2014, a lovely ceremony joining Cynthia Lynn Master Cullen and Bradley Clinton Rapp took place at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, PA. Mrs. Deborah Jacobson presided over the marriage ceremony. The ceremony was at 11 am with a luncheon following at the Foxburg Country Club.
The bride wore a sterling silver Vera Wang gown and was accompanied by her maid of honor, Stephanie McCall, Cynthia's niece of Eau Claire and her attendant, Rachel Cullen, Cynthia's daughter of Emlenton.

EBADC Announces Town Meeting

The East Brady Area Development Corporation is inviting area property owners, permanent and seasonal residents and business owners to participate in a town meeting to be held on September 24, 2014 at the Arnold Beabout Community Center on Robinson Street from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The purpose for the meeting is to introduce current EBADC board members, and request input from East Brady residents, and residents from its surrounding communities, regarding its reorganization and goals for the future.

The River’s Bend Restaurant and Bar recently opened its doors to the public on July 18th. They are located at 300 Water Street in East Brady, PA.

Sara McNany Celebrates 100 Years

Sara McNany

Mrs. Sara McNany was born on September 2, 1914 in Scrubgrass Township, PA and celebrated her 100th birthday. Sara is the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Milford of Six Points and one of seven children. Sara and her brother, Bill Milford are the remaining members of her immediate family.
Growing up, she attended the Byron Center Elementary school and then Emlenton High School, graduating in May 1934. Sara married the late Charles McNany on December 21, 1934 and they spent 70 wonderful years together.

Emlenton: According to Mary Ann Horner, PennDOT spokesperson, the Emlenton Hill Project is
running on schedule. It is slated to re-open by mid-October of 2014. Paving will begin by the end of September. (Equipment is moving in now!)
At this time there are four of the six walls completed and two near completion.
Earlier in the year it was reported through another PennDOT spokesperson that the hill could re-open by early September, as long at the weather cooperated and there wasn’t a rainy spring and summer.
