Letters to the Editor

Dear Emlenton Citizens,

Yesterday A few fortunate local men struck it big in the oil patch.
They built the school building, original firehouse-city hall and donated them to Emlenton
The WPA paid for most of the Sanitary Sewer Collection System and a
Sewer Treatment Plant. Investors built the entire Water System, which was state of art in the early 1900's - at no cost to the Borough.
The Municipal Parks, Swimming Pool, Ball Fields and Medical Center were provided primarily through trust funds left by local citizens.
 Today Another donor is in town

Concerning the Marcellus shale

Dear Editor;

Dear members of our community:

We are excited to tell you that a Ladies Auxiliary has been formed at the Paul Wood VFW Post 7840 located in Cherry Valley, PA.
We would like to focus our endeavors to support our VFW through donations to our Post as well as support for VFW activities/functions.  An example of this would be to help/contribute to our Memorial Day services as well as our Veteran’s Day tribute.

Karns City Area School District Teachers' Strike

Dear Editor:
Much to the dismay of some teachers, especially those in my extended family, I am writing in the matter of the impending teacher's strike within the Karns City Area School District.

A Wonderful 'ACV' Cultural Event

 If you were fortunate enough to attend the 2010 PMEA District 3 Band Festival Concert on February 12 and 13 at A.C.Valley High school, what  an event – one to not forget.
Eight beautiful song arrangements – very professionally done –  such an enjoyable evening.
It was stated that is has been 18 or 19 years since ACValley District has hosted the District Band Festival.
