2021 Moniteau Varsity Football

Thus far in the 2021 the Moniteau Warrior football team finds itself in unfamiliar territory but looks to stack up some wins as the season progresses. The Warriors are currently 1-3 overall and in the D9 Large School division. The Warriors also had a game canceled against rival Central Clarion County in week two.

Head coach Bob Rottman’s Warriors kicked off the season with a 21-6 loss to Kane but have struggled to put enough points on the board and stay in games early. After lopsided losses to both Ridgway (42-14) and Karns City (44-6) the Warriors picked up a nice win over Bradford 44-38 in week five.

The Warriors kept in on the ground against Bradford racking up 572 yards on the ground. The Warriors only went to the air one time in the contest which also went for a score. Leading the Warriors in a trifecta running game was Matt Martino (278 yards, 3 td’s), Hunter Stalker (189 yds., 1 td) and quarterback David Deccisino grounding out 92 yds and a score both on the ground and in the air on his lone attempt.

As of press time (Friday, Oct. 1) the Warriors were headed to Brookville to try and knock off a talented Brookville Raider team.

October 15th: Home vs. St. Mary’s

October 22nd: Moniteau at Punxsutawney
