Coach Shanna (Klingler) Tharan,
Congratulations to Baylee Blauser who broke the longstanding triple jump record at A-C Valley. Blauser, a standout track athlete, wasted no time getting back into rhythm in her first meet of the year at Karns City on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Blauser jumped her way into the record books by eclipsing the previous triple jump record of 36’-3", a mark held by her coach Shanna (Klingler) Tharan. That record had stood for nearly twenty years.
Blauser, a senior, jumped an impressive 37’-6 ½”. But don’t count on that record holding too long. Blauser with the rest of the year to compete already has her sights on 38’.
Just as impressive, Blauser nearly broke three school records in the first meet of her senior year, two of which are now hers. Already the record holder in the long jump, Blauser faulted on a mark that would of beat her previous long jump record. In her junior year Blauser was listed as one of the tops in the state. However due to injury, Blauser was never able to compete at full strength, a motivational point for Blauser.
As a warm up this year in her first meet, Blauser ran the 100 for the first time ever in competition. And the results will put her on the board at A-C Valley having tied the record held by Emma Fox at 12.6 seconds.
