The Boys & Girls Club Along The Allegheny 6th annual Operation Santa Program was once again a huge success. The Operation Santa Program is an outreach program of The Boys & Girls Club Along The Allegheny. With the help of our generous community and volunteers we were able to successfully help 33 children this year. We were also able to provide 11 families with Christmas Day food in conjunction with Keystone Smiles. The food items included a turkey, ham, stuffing, and all the fixings for a Christmas dinner. They were also provided cereal, milk, cheese, cookies, and other food items.
The Operation Santa program was the idea of our Board member, Kayla Smith, who created it in memory of her mother, Patty Thompson. Patty instilled in her children the gift of “paying it forward”. Each Christmas season we raise money to help “pay it forward” in her memory and to instill in all the power of giving. We thank you for your continued support and wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday.
Part of the money raised was from our raffle ticket sales during the holiday. This year we raffled off a 36" Blackstone griddle and $250. The winner of the Blackstone griddle was Brianna Yoder of Ebensburg. The winner of the $250 was Roxanne McCollough of Clarion.
Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets. Special thank you to George Dukovich of Pittsburgh for his contribution towards the raffle ticket sales.
