Bruin Area Military Banner Project - Last Call For 2021 Season

Updated: Mar 13, 2021

If you would like to purchase a banner to be hung this year, and have not yet done so, please note the final time to bring an application and photo to be scanned is Friday, March 19, 2021.

Any honorably discharged U.S. Veteran and those who gave their lives while in military service for our country are eligible to be honored. Those honored do NOT need to be from, nor have ever lived in, the Bruin Area. Military units may also be honored [ex. 101st Airborne].

A photo of the veteran in uniform is desired, but not required. Please note that wallet size photos do not enlarge as well as larger photos. Ideal size would be an 8" x 10". Larger photo = sharper, clearer enlargement.

The veteran’s picture [or unit insignia] will be on both sides of the banner, along with name, rank [if desired], branch of service, dates served and era of service [if applicable]. The cost for one 2' x 3' street banner is $135 and includes mounting hardware and hanging costs through the 2021 season. A 12" x 18" yard banner may be purchased for S35 each, when ordering a street banner with the same set-up.

Applications are available at the Bruin Station, Bruin Post Office, the NexTier Bank in Petrolia, or online at: militarytributebanners. org. Completed application, photo, and payment [cash or check only] may be taken to the Petroleum Valley Regional Water Authority Office at 100 Water Company Lane, Petrolia, (between the Petrolia VFD Social Hall and the Petrolia Medical Center) for scanning Friday Mar 19th from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Applications will be processed in the order received. Checks should be made payable to: BAVMA.

PLEASE NOTE: Military banners ordered in 2020 will be displayed this year from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. Pandemic shut-downs delayed printing and arrival of the previously ordered banners. They were properly stored and soon will be proudly displayed.
