Butler Farm Succession Workshop Set
PA Farm Link, in partnership with AgChoice Farm Credit will hold a Farm Succession Workshop at the AgChoice Farm Credit office, 610 Evans City Rd, Butler, PA 16001 on Friday, February 28, 2020. Registration will begin at 9:20 AM and programming will run from 9:30-3 and includes lunch. Speakers & topics include:
• Business, Legal and Tax Considerations, Attorney Robert Clark • Financial Considerations and Income for Senior Generations and Financial Options to Complete Transition, John Black—AgChoice Farm Credit, Ag Business Consultant • Farm Family Communications, Darlene Livingston—PA Farm Link, 4th gen farmer • Farm Succession Challenges, Michelle Kirk – PA Farm Link • Farm Stress and Related Issues, Jayne Miller – Wellspan Philhaven, Community Education Coordinator
Registration is required by February 21 and may be completed online at www.pafarmlink.org or by calling (717) 705-2121 or (724) 541-0387. Workshop fee is $15/person and a discount is provided for 2 or more participants from the same farm operation. A copy of “Planning the Future of Your Farm” Pennsylvania Edition (a $12 value) and lunch will be provided for all registrants This workshop, presented by PA Farm Link, a non-profit dedicated to “Linking Farmers to the Future”, will provide information on various aspects of creating a Farm Business Succession/Transition plan. Often farm families discuss passing the farm business to the next generation but get “stuck” on how to proceed. This workshop will help families work through some of the myths and stumbling blocks of moving forward with a farm succession and transition plan. An IFTN certified succession facilitator will be available at the meeting.
