Butler VA to Honor Korean War Veterans


Butler, Pennsylvania — The Butler VA Health Care System is hosting its first Korean War Recognition Day Event on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at its main facility on 353 North Duffy Road in Butler, Pennsylvania.

A special invite-only ceremony will take place at 11am on July 27, followed by a public event from 1-4pm. Recognition pins and certificates will be passed out at the event. Resource tables and light refreshments will be available.

“We are honored to serve our Korean War Veterans and their families at the Butler VA Health Care System. And, we are excited to celebrate their service during this inaugural event,” said Sharon Coyle, Butler VA Director.

July 27, 2023, marks the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement, which ended over three years of fighting on the Korean Peninsula. National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day falls every year on July 27, recognizing the 5.7 million Veterans who served in the Korean War.
