Ever since he was teenager, Shawn Casper knew retail would be his passion. “When I was about 13 years old my aunt and uncle had a small corner store near Saxonburg that they let me work at the store when my uncle’s health was failing. You can say retail has always been in my blood,” stated Casper and from that moment, Casper was hooked.
Shawn who graduated from Moniteau in 1988 and attended Slippery Rock University, spent twenty-three years with Lowe’s Home Centers, serving seven of those years as the District Operations Manager and eleven as a Store Manager for multiple stores in the western PA market. Casper was also a store manager for Walmart just prior to looking into owning his own business.
“I have always had the vision to have my own business,” stated Casper. For Casper, finally that opportunity came along and on January 23, 2021when he purchased the Annandale Country Statio, (2103 West Sunbury Road, Hilliards, PA, off of previous owner, Randy Armagost. Ironically, his new venture is not too far from Wolford Road between West Sunbury and Boyers where Casper grew up.
Shawn is looking to build upon the business over time. “The previous owner left me with a strong foundation of sales and customer service that I am working on adding additional product lines and services to continue to grow the business and offer the important things that our customers ask for.”

With the retail business always changing Casper knows that if he is going to be successful he must adapt his customers’ needs and wants with new products and services. “We are always moving and adding items to meet the customer’s needs. We want to make our customers shopping experience as smooth as possible. The future will be a continuous change for us in layout and adding and removing different products to better serve our community”, stated the new owner.
