Charles W. "Chuck" Cotherman

Charles W. “Chuck” Cotherman, 71, of St. Petersburg, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Charles was born in Clarion County, on July 10, 1949. He was the son of the late Charley W. and Sarah Whitling Cotherman.
He was a graduate of Allegheny Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg and retired from Gardenscape. He enjoyed hunting, working on model cars, and was an antique car enthusiast. He most especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Emily. Chuck was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Sara Bell Cotherman on September 6, 2013. The couple was married in Clarion on May 20, 1970.
He is survived by four children: Charles Scott Cotherman, Michael E. Cotherman, and Kimberly A. Cotherman all of St. Petersburg, and Roy A. Cotherman (Barb Pisor), of Butler. A granddaughter survives, Emily D. Cotherman of Butler; eight brothers: Floyd Cotherman of Sligo, Daniel Cotherman (Sandy) of Meadville, William “Bill” Cotherman of Emlenton, Lawrence “Larry” Cotherman (Devra) of Maryland, Thomas “Tom” Cotherman (Charlene) of Shippenville, Walter Cotherman (Carla) of Rimersburg, Jeffrey “Jeff” Cotherman (Deb) of Kennerdell and Ronald “Ron” Cotherman of St. Petersburg; two sisters: Jean Myers (Kenny) of St. Petersburg, and Linda Hepler (Loni) of Knox; as well as his brothers in law: Ken, Scott, and Ron Bell. Also surviving is a number of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be officiated by the Rev. Wade Barto, pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church on August 7, 2021. Interment with military honors will take place beside his wife at Zion Union Cemetery in Emlenton.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of St. Petersburg.
