Community To The Rescue

Last year Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department found they had a major mechanical problem with their tanker truck.  Upon inspection from Kenworth in Clintonville it was deemed inoperable.  The cost of repairing this firetruck was beyond the departments means.

The problem came to the attention of Tom and Nancy Hovis of Hovis Truck Service, of Emlenton, PA. Through their generosity, a used engine was donated to the fire department. The generosity didn’t stop there.Wade Calderwood, general manager of Kenworth of Pennsylvania in Clintonville and Ray Ludlam Service manager, donated the company’s mechanical time to take apart the engine and fix or replace all needed parts. Through the generosity and helping hand of the members of the small community, Clintonville again can service their area when the need arises. Thanks is not enough to all involved.

The Clintonville Fire Department services Clintonville borough and Barkeyville borough as well as surrounding township such as Irwin, Clinton, Victory and part of Scrubgrass.  The department relies on donations from the residents of these areas to maintain equipment, maintain the firehall, pay utilities, pay insurances etc. The department has many fundraisers throughout the year as well. The Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department last year ran 365 fire calls.
