Welsey Forsythe Dallas Weisenstein
Now in its 11th year, the Annual Snowball Kickball fundraiser which is normally held in February by Vince and Carrie Forsythe will be held on Saturday, March 6th. Over the past ten years, the St. Petersburg, PA couple has raised nearly $135,000 for those that are in need or for those who face hardships due to unforeseen medical issues. Part of the proceeds each year is also donated to the Clarion County Shriners which helps children and their families who are faced with medical afflictions.
Last year the Forsythe Kickball Fundraiser event raised $35,000.
This year the event will benefit Welsey Forsythe of St. Petersburg and six month old Dallas Weisenstein of Chicora.
On November 21, 2020 Marty, Holly and Wesley became ill with the Corona Virus. All three were symptomatic. After 10 days, Wes was doing well, except for a chronic cough and headache. On December 9th, he had a massive stroke. The virus had caused blood clots in his carotid artery. As a result of the stroke, he is unable to move the left side of his body. The virus also attacked his heart. It is only pumping at 25-30%.
Six month old Dallas Weisenstein spent a week in Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh when he was just one month old. Doctor’s ran numerous tests to find out what was wrong with him.
After a week-long stay and doctor consults, Dallas was diagnosed with Hirshsprungs disease.
Hirshsprungs disease is a condition of the large intestine (colon) that causes difficulty passing stool.
Hirschsprung’s disease involves missing nerve cells in the muscles of part or all of the large intestine (colon). Present at birth, it causes difficulty passing stool.
Dallas is the son of Sarah and Austin Weisenstein of Chicora.
The event will feature a live auction as well as a Chinese Auction and raffles on a walleye trip, half of a hog, a $1,000 cash raffle and a raffle on a nice handmade quilt by Nancy Hindman.
