East Brady Area Development Corporation Reflects on 2023 and Looks Ahead to 2024

The EBADC has been busy in 2023 planning and conducting community events and projects. Some new events since the last annual meeting in 2022 are the Cookie Walk that occurs in conjunction with Light-Up Night and the Luminaria that happens on Christmas Eve. EBADC also has acquired additional window display space in town and a veteran’s display and a seasonal window display brighten up vacant storefronts. A new freestanding mural dedication sign was installed in the Spring. Thanks to a grant from Duquesne Light EBADC purchased and installed a bicycle repair station at the trail parking lot at the East Brady treatment plant.

Events and projects that have been repeated year to year are the annual Keep PA Beautiful Day, beautification projects at the bridge, trailhead and Veterans Park, fall décor on utility posts on Kelly’s Way, art windows displaying works by local artists, crafters and school students, Attics and Cellars Day, Ice JAM/Jam sales and We Believe Light-Up Night. Volunteers from EBADC, the community and the schools along with workers from Clarion County Probation logged 556 hours of their time in the past 12 months.

New for 2024, EBADC is working on a project to present beautification awards for residential and business properties and a 70 year celebration of EBADC that may include a community picnic at the Riverfront Park. Ideas for additional projects and events are always welcome. You can contact EBADC via email at ebadc68@gmail.com or you are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings February through November. Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm at Arnold Beabout Community Center in room 14. In order for us to continue the work our organization has been doing for the past 70 years we need YOU!.

As of the annual meeting held on November 28th the EBABC board consists of the following members: Susan Buechele, Kate Hall, Toni Henry, Paula Jack, Beth Kostella, Bill Rode, and Gayle Wright.
