EBADC Plans Annual Meeting, Seeks New Members/Volunteers
The East Brady Area Development Corporation (EBADC) will hold its annual meeting at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11 at the Allegheny Hills Retirement Residence at 421 Kelly’s Way. All members and the general public are encouraged to attend. Members may vote at this meeting where board member terms may be renewed or new board members elected. Officers will be elected from the board immediately following. The regular monthly EBADC meeting will be held at 6:30 PM at the same location.
EBADC welcomes input from the community and encourages residents of East Brady and Brady’s Bend to become active in the organization. Attendance at monthly meetings is not required. If interested please contact EBADC at ebadc68@gmail.com or at PO Box 355 East Brady, PA 16028 or by calling the organization secretary at 412-759-9152.
Fund raising and events have been limited in 2020 due to COVID but the organization has been able to host several activities and is planning for next year. The art window displays at 325 Kelly’s Way have been ongoing, and currently an Artist Choice raffle is in progress. A Pop-Up Holiday Market will feature local crafters at the same location during the month of November. Volunteers will once again decorate the Veteran’s Park with hundreds of LED lights for the holiday season but regret that typical Light-Up Night activities have been suspended for this year. The popular Ice-Jam Jam will be back and available for purchase at the Community Center and the Old Bank Deli. The annual clean-up day held in April each year was conducted in October.
The Beautification committee maintained landscaping and planters in multiple locations in the borough. EBADC has also, this year, funded signage for the borough’s Riverfront Park. Volunteers have logged over 300 hours of volunteer time so far in 2020.
