Two neighboring police departments are currently in the process of organizing an informational and family community event.

On Tuesday, August 3, 2021 the Emlenton and Knox Police Departments along with the surrounding communities will come together in an effort to help bring awareness about the people who protect and serve us with the first ever National Night Out.

The event will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm on Main Street from Kerr Ave. to 8th street. National Night Out is a free event featuring food and activities for everyone.

Chief Justin O’Neil of the Emlenton Police Department has been the driving force behind National Night Out. “With so much negativity towards the police etc., we thought it would be a great way for children and their families to get to know about their first responder. We need communities to come together, not be torn apart”, stated Officer O’Neil.

Special guest appearances will be made by McGruff the Crime Dog and Smokey the Bear.

Children can also enjoy, Dragonfly balloons, face painting, hoola hoop entertainment and magician Ray Lucas.

Children ages 2-12 can register to win prizes including three Power Wheels, three Power Scooters, two Tricycles, two bicycles and a hoverboard. Children must be present to register.

On site will be the following Emergency Service Agencies;
