Emlenton’s Holy Name Council Knights of Columbus #4602 Serves Local Community


Emlenton’s Holy Name Council #4602 of the Knights of Columbus has had a busy and productive year in 2022. The men amassed countless hours of unselfish charity (the Order’s hallmark virtue) within our area and elsewhere, along with donating $11,270 though fundraisers and in-kind grants. The 2022 Council activities are as follows:

Helping Hand: (5 donations totaling $600)

$100 cash donations given to cover traveling costs for families with loved ones in faraway hospitals or rehab centers.

ABC Life Center, Franklin, PA: Provided painting assistance as part of the Center’s remodeling project, as well as collected donations and Council contributions towards our Catholic Pro-Life commitment ($6,075).

Hurricane Ian Relief Efforts: Council and parishioner donations totaling ($1,200).

Coats For Kids program ($250 each to A.C. Valley, Keystone and Karns City School Districts) totaling $750.

Petroleum Valley Youth Center: Donated $200 towards sponsoring Summer Youth Camp costs.

Forsythe’s Annual Snowball Kickball Fundraiser: Donated $100.

Affected Ukraine War Victims (Knights Charities): $300 donation.

Donation towards Labor Costs to remodel a local handicap person’s bathroom: $600.

Donation to Catholic Rural Ministries: $100.

Christmas Groceries for 2 local families: $730.

Emergency water heater install for brother knight: $500.

Mother’s Day Chocolate bar handout to ALL ladies attending mass.

(2) Funeral Rosary Recitations for brother knights or their family member.

Marched in Emlenton Summer Fest Parade

Provided Hot Dogs, Snacks, and Beverages on St. Michael’s Church Grounds during Fireworks.

Provided and grilled Hot Dogs and Hamburgers at St. Michael’s Parish Picnic.

Restored the original 1871 St. Michael Cross and Crucifix Body donated to Council #4602.

(4) Attended diocese 22/32 Men’s Conference in Erie.

Paid postage costs for Neal Rothen’s Rosary Construction Ministry.

Purchased (11) Council Shirts for members.

Numerous rides for the elderly to doctor visits.
