Emlenton’s new splash park was open on Sunday, July 10th during the summer festival for a test run. The word is that the kids loved it. It was a beautiful day for a test run. Except for a glitch with one of the splash switches, everyone had a great time. On hand to witness the event were several of the contractors who helped build the park. Fred Hays, Steve King, and Bob Hanold. Doug Elder and Mike Buerk also had a hand in the creation of the park, but were not present. The chairperson and organizer of the parks construction was Amy Whitehill, who was also present and was delighted at the response from the public with its debut.
A formal dedication of the park is planned for Friday, July 29 at 10 A.M. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshment will be provided by the Boys and Girls Club Along the Allegheny.
