A Dedication Service was held at the Emlenton United Methodist Church in honor of deceased veterans with the Wreaths Across America program.

The service started at 11:00 AM with hymns, prayers and readings. Mitzi Alden, read the list of cemeteries where the wreaths would be laid, and Kathy Kriebel made the wreath laying presentation.

Wreaths were laid for deceased veterans of all the branches of our military; Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, Merchant Marine and for POW/MIA.

Other participants in the Emlenton services included, Rev. Tim Farkas, Nancy Walls, pianist; welcome by Michael Goughler; Soldier’s Prayer by Lawrence DeLair; speaker Steve Hurrell; program featured speaker was Chris Hile; and taps were played by Trevor Hile.

Wreaths were then laid at 15 different cemeteries throughout the area and the Emlenton Veterans Memorial Park.

Next year the plan is to place more wreaths on individual graves. Orders for wreaths placed now until January 18, 2022 are priced at $15 for one and the second one is free. See Michael Goughler for a wreath order form or go to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org to place your order.

The Perry Township service was held at the Park Hill Church of God. Wreaths were placed at the Mt. Calvery Cemetery in Dutch Hill, Perryville Cemetery, West Freedom Cemetery or West Monterey Cemetery.

The local committees thank all the volunteers how helped make this years program a memorable one.
