Evelyn Imogene McGuirk, 88, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 27, at the Parker Personal Care Home in Parker, Pa. Born on August 3, 1932, in Licking Twp., she is the daughter of the late Rev. Ralph J. and Mary Grace Kilgore Radaker.
Imogene was a graduate of the former Clarion State Teachers College (now University). She enjoyed a career spanning 30 years as an educator in elementary education at the former St. Petersburg Elementary School. Upon her retiring, she and her late husband, Francis Paul "Chick" McGuirk would spend six months out of the year at Myrtle Beach. A devoted Christian, she was a Sunday school teacher at the Church of God in Callensburg for many years and is a lifetime member of the Church of God. She was an avid reader, golfer as well as a world traveler. Imogene loved her family and especially enjoyed golfing with her grandsons on the golf course.
She is survived by her son: Terrence "Terry" (Connie) McGuirk of Perryville. Her two grandsons: Jacob "Nick" Nicholson (Jenny) of Foxburg; and Blayne Harrison McGuirk of Perryville. Her two Great Grandsons: Jacob Jeremiah and Xander Harrison McGuirk. Two sisters-in-law: Donna and Shirley Radaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Lt. Col. Retired Herbert E. Radaker, and Byron C. Radaker.
Friends will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Parker, Pa (201 S. Wayne ave) on Thursday, October 1, from 2-4 & 6-8. The funeral will follow at 8 pm inside the funeral home.
