On Saturday, July 18th, the Clarion County Shriners received a check on behalf of the annual Snowball Kickball fundraiser hosted by Vince and Carrie Forsythe of St. Petersburg.

Vince and Carrie Forsythe presented the $10,000 check to Dean Ritter of the Clarion County Shriners at the annual Clarion County Shriners golf outing at Hi-Level golf course.

The idea of the Snowball Kickball fundraiser manifested itself out of the idea of giving back. The Forsythe’s own experience with their own kids at a young age is a driving force for the local couple. The yearly fundraising event is a reminder of hardships they faced and that people can and do make a difference.

Now in its tenth year, the annual Forsythe event is held each year at the Forsythe’s home on the second Saturday in February and has helped many local families over the years. Part of those proceeds have also benefited the Clarion County Shriners. Over the last six years, the benefit has raised $30,000 for the Clarion County Shriners.

This year Snowball Kickball event raised over $35,000. In the last three years alone the event has raised over $85,000 and over $100,000 in total over the years.

The Annual Snowball Kickball Fundraiser held by Vince and Carrie Forsythe exemplifies all that is good in the surrounding community. Each year hundreds of friends, strangers and kind hearted souls give of themselves to help those in need.
