Fresh Milk to Families in Need - Fill a Glass with Hope
In 2015 the American Dairy Association North East launched a program, “Fill a Glass With Hope”. This program provides fresh milk to families in need. $1.00 provides 8 glasses, or one half gallon of fresh milk to those in need. Anyone can contribute to this worthy program and that is exactly what Tiler Stoops of Harmony, Pa. did. Tiler, a senior at Seneca Valley High School, devoted his senior project to “Fill a Glass With Hope,” Tiler along with the help of his family put together a night of Square Dancing which was held at the Josh and Jodi Teets new barn. There were 60+ baskets for a basket raffle, food, with all proceeds going to the program. An estimated guess was that there were approximately 150 people present. Tiler is the son of Vernon Stoops, his step-mother Krysta and his mother Aimee Young.
The Butler County Dairy Promotion Team held their monthly meeting on October 1 where Tiler presented a check for $2,040.43 to the Team. Friends of this young man have contributed enough money to provide 16,320 glasses of farm fresh milk. That is an amazing accomplishment. As a result of Tiler’s dedication to this program many families will have MILK on the table.
The Butler County Dairy Promotion Team will donate this contribution to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, which in turn passes on the donation to different area food banks, including Butler County.
If you would like to make a donation to the “Fill a Glass With Hope” program, make checks payable to the Butler County Dairy Promotion Team.
