This group of 5th grade lady Gremlins will compete in the PA Youth State Basketball Championship next weekend, March 19-21st. They qualified to attend last year’s Championship but due to the pandemic it was cancelled. They were ecstatic when offered to return this year as a competitor.
This year has had its many struggle with the pandemic although the team has showed resiliency and determination to compete. The team has come back strong again this year losing only one player but also gaining another. Coming off only one loss last year and only 2 losses this year to date, they are hoping to continue that momentum into the State Championships.
The team is led by Ronda VanDyke, former KC basketball star and member of the 2000 State Championship Team and Brian Cutway.
We wish this group of ladies and coaches the best of luck in the State Championship. You girls have represented our hometown well. GO KC!
