with Knox Lion, Bill Henry.
Kylee Weaver, a senior at Keystone High School was selected as the Knox Lions Student of the Month.
She was joined by her parents Joshua and Melissa Weaver, and my grandma Susan Weaver at a dinner held by the lions to honor Kylee.
Kylee was asked to make a few remarks at the dinner. She started with a “thank you” to the Lions Club for selecting her as student of the month of May. She also thanked her family and teachers their encouragement, and for shaping her into the person she is.
Kylee participated in music related activities at school including concert band, concert choir, and jazz band. She said the music program at Keystone has helped her with her musical talent, and she has also developed many friendships because of the music program. She was very thankful for Mr. Long, Keystone music director, who she credits for advancing her musical talents. Along with being involved in the music program, she was a member of the SPARK club. She was also voted on Prom Court.
Outside of school, she is a youth worship leader at her local church, where she is responsible for encouraging the youth in her church, and helping them use their musical talents to glorify the Lord. She also plays alongside her Dad, a guitarist, in a praise team at the church. She also plans to continue to volunteer at her church by assisting with banquets, and teaching Vacation Bible School.
Kylee was also elected the treasurer of her senior class, and treasurer of the National Honors Society. These roles have grown my leadership skills, and established a level of responsibility.
Her plans after high school are to attend Geneva College and major in communication disorders. And then she plans to attend Clarion University for a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
