Front L-R: Michelle Wagner, Sydney Palmer, Erika Hetzler, Millie Donahue, Dave Staab, President of the Boys & Girls Club Along the Allegheny. Back row: Stephanie Hunsberger, Shawn Wright, and Chris Palmer.

Thanks to Carol Burns, owner of the Plaza Restaurant in Emlenton, a generous thought has turned into a nice donation for The Boys & Girls Club Along The Allegheny.

During the holiday season Burns and her staff sold gift certificates in December for The Plaza Restaurant and the Emlenton Travel Center. In all, a total of $1265 in gift cards were sold. Burns, who has been a great supporter of The Boys and Girls Club Along The Allegheny rounded that figure up to an even $1,500.00.

The Boys and Girls Club was established in 2001 by Dave Staab, a local businessman of Emlenton. The club is an established 501(c) 3 organization who’s purpose is to provide programs and services to better enhance an individual youth's personal sense of; usefulness, competency, belonging and influence. As a result, members develop meaningful life roles and interests in family, school, community and work settings.

The Boys & Girls Club’s mission is to inspire, educate, guide and enable ALL young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

The Boys and Girls Club is located in the lower level of the Crawford Center and is open from 3 pm until 8 pm, Monday thru Friday for kids ages 8 to 17.

Thank you on behalf of the Board of Directors!
