Mildred “Millie” Emma Delost


Mildred “Millie” Emma Delost, 88, of Emlenton, Pa, formerly of North Hills, passed away at the Shippenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 14, 2021, after a lengthy illness.

Mildred was born in Pittsburgh, Pa on December 31, 1932. She is the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Emma Karastesy Karastury.

She was married to the late Donald Delost, who passed in 2010.

Mildred moved from North Hills to Emlenton with her husband where they had spent years building a home together. She attended Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton, Pa. when her health permitted.

The most important thing in her life was her family, especially her 3 sons. She loved to cook, and most importantly loved to feed. She was a nanny for many years to numerous families. Mildred will be remembered as being smart, hardworking, caring, and could do anything that she set her mind to.

Mildred is survived by her 3 sons; Andrew (Michele) Delost of South Carolina, Dan Delost of Emlenton, and Bob (Amy) Delost of Pittsburgh. Her 5 grandchildren; Bryan Delost and Sienna (James) Fagan of South Carolina, as well as Mya, Mason, and Makenna Delost of Pittsburgh. Her 4 great-grandchildren; Lucas and Elle Delost, along with Chloe and Sophie Fagan of South Carolina. She is also survived by her nurse of many years, Tracy, to who the family would like to say a special thank you to for her great care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton, Pa. on Monday, July 19th, at 1:30 PM with Father John Miller officiating.

Friends will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Eau Claire, Pa (201 S. Washington St.) on Monday, July 19th, from 5:00-8:00 PM. Burial will take place at Saint Nicholas Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa on Tuesday, July 20th at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have donations sent to the Clarion County Cancer Center ATTN: Tracy.
