Once upon a time, many years ago, I watched a movie on television titled, "Elephant Walk."
It took place in India, if I remember correctly. This big, high muckety-muck wanted to build an edifice that would exhibit his high estate in life. He needed to have some of the jungle growth cleared away to make way for it. And he had to bring in supplies to start construction. Then he had to get architects and engineers and laborers to erect the structure. Trouble is, every night a horde of elephants would come stomping through the construction site and ruin all of their hard work. The workers informed the big, high muckety-muck that he had decided to build right in the path that the elephants took as part of their migration.
Well, the muckety-muck wasn't going to let the elephants stand (or walk) in the way of his plans, so he kept on building--and the elephants kept on destroying. He tried killing the elephants, but that made the other elephants mad--and vicious--and deadly.
I don't remember what the outcome was (after all, it was a long time ago), but I believe the moral was: The elephants were doing what God created them to do and they had to do it."
When I was a little girl--about eight years old, my brothers and sister would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to do five different things. When I was 12, I added another one..
It was a struggle for me and a lot of work, especially since I was raising a family most of that time, but I have done all six of those things. I've even done a few things that weren't on the list. I consider them just icing on the cake. I believe it was what God created me to do and I had to do it.
A man is now running for President of the United States. He is having a struggle and a lot of opposition. There are lies and allegations on both sides of the aisle. We need to get information from all sources--not just one side of the equation. He is running into obstacles on many fronts, but many people believe in him.
Could it be that this is what God created him to be and he has to do it?
