Perry Twp. Historical Society Open House

The Perry Township Historical Society (Clarion County) will have its annual Open House at the old two-room school in West Freedom on Saturday, June 7th from 10 am to 1 pm.

Jason Pollock, President of the Society’s Board, says, “Even if you have been here before, there is always something new to see at the school. The museum portion of the building is always adding photographs and artifacts.” He adds that the museum is a great place to look for family histories as information on over 300 local families has been accumulated. “Our main attraction for this year’s open house will be provided by you, the guest. Guests are invited to bring an old item for display for the day. This can be anything from an old letter to an arrowhead to an egg beater!”

Participants should bring a means of displaying their item such as a card table or even a TV tray. “We are looking for a local ‘expert’ to be on hand to help identify and/or give an estimated value of the items. If interested in volunteering this service, call Sally Reed at 814-782-3918. Jason will be “firing up the Blackstone” for hot dogs. Donations will be appreciated.
