Quality Life Services - Caring for Residents is First Priority

For Quality Life Services, ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is first priority. At this time, there are no resident or employee cases of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) at any of Quality Life Services’ ten (10) post-acute healthcare facilities.

To help reduce the potential for the virus to enter any QLS location, visitation is now limited to those facility employees, contractors and consultants who are needed to keep the operations running and assure the residents’ needs are met. A process has been implemented to screen these individuals prior to entry. Effective Thursday, March 12, 2020, family and friends are prohibited from visiting Quality Life Services facilities.

Says Mary Susan Yurek, Chief Quality Officer for QLS, “We recognize that connecting with loved ones is incredibly important to residents. QLS is ensuring other ways for residents to communicate with loved ones including telephone, email, text, video chat and social media. QLS sister organization, Don’t Stop Dreamin’, has generously offered to provide a complimentary Apple iPad to every location so that residents may share the device for video chat with family members.” Out of an abundance of caution, resident group activities both inside and outside of the building have also been restricted. Visits from church, social and civic groups have been temporarily cancelled; resident group outings to large crowd areas including shopping malls and restaurants have also been cancelled.

Family and friends of Quality Life Services residents are encouraged to visit the company’s website for updates to the visitation protocol: www.qualitylifeservices.com.
