—2020 proved to be a challenging year in many ways. Football, both professional and high school, were no different as there were many oddities that occurred. For local fans, one had to look no further than the Pittsburgh Steelers, who for the 1st time in their storied franchise, won their first 11 games. However, the Black and Gold lost 5 of their last 6 games including a pitiful showing against the Browns in the 1st round of the playoffs and the 2020 season quickly became a not so good memory. In an equally strange series of events, the Penn State football team lost their first 5 games of the season for the 1st time in their storied history. The Nittany Lions managed to finish on a high, though, by winning their last 4 games of the season. However, a 4-5 season isn’t going to cut it in Happy Valley. As different as 2020 was, some things never seem to change. The Alabama Crimson Tide football team rolled to another National Championship by defeating Ohio State in the final by a 4-touchdown margin.
