Carol Walter O’Neil, 83, of Emlenton, Rockland Twp., went to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2025, at her residence.

Carol was born in Sharon, Mercer Co. on March 3, 1942.  She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Emma Scott Walter.

She attended school in Cranberry and had been a long-time member of the Rockland United Methodist Church.  Carol looked forward to traveling with her husband to the southern states in their RV.  She enjoyed flower gardening and had been employed for 30 years at Anderson’s Greenhouse in Franklin.

Carol was married in Turkey City on July 15, 1960, to William K. “Bill” O’Neil.  Mr. O’Neil passed away on January 24, 2015.

Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Cozad and Billie Renee Graham and her husband, Donald, all of Seneca; seven grandchildren, Braden, Jennifer, Tyler, Jesse, Jessica, Cathie, and Clifford, as well as several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry Walter, Richard “Dick” Walter, and Frederick Walter; three sisters, Linda Tulip, Deborah Confer, and Tina Dunkle; a daughter-in-law, Genia Walter, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Marcy O’Neil and Tammy Metts; a granddaughter, Amanda Blair, a sister, Gail Austin, and a brother, John Walter.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton from Noon – 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025.  A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Myers, a retired Methodist minister, officiating. The interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.
