Charlene Stephanie “Charlie” Miller, 68, of Chicora, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 22, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family.

Charlene was born in Butler on April 9, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Huguette B. Gueslin Miller.

Charlene was a proud 1975 graduate of Karns City Area High School and dedicated 32 years of service to Indspec Chemical Company in Petrolia where she worked as a pipe fitter. Charlene was known for her witty sense of humor, a generous heart, and the way she made everyone around her feel loved. She had a zest for life, and a love of travel, sports, and good company. She was a devoted Pittsburgh Penguins fan and also enjoyed women’s softball, golf, college basketball, dancing, karaoke, playing cards, and spending time with her treasured family and friends to whom she was affectionately “Charlie” or “Chuck.” She was a member of the Chicora Moose Lodge, the Women of the Moose and enjoyed spending time with friends at Millerstown Inn.

She is survived by her sisters, Chantal J. Knappenberger and her husband, Fred, and Bonnie H. Pendergast and her husband, Mike; two nephews, Timothy Knappenberger and his wife, Lisa and Jordan Coyne; two nieces, Danielle Ball and her husband, Darin and Abigail Coyne; her great nieces, Alixandra Balestra and her husband, Alex, Elizabeth Ball, Gabrielle Ball, Katherine Ball, Chloe Gaul and her husband, Ben, Lucy Knappenberger and Celia Knappenberger; her great great nieces, Penelope and Sylvie Balestra; and her great great nephew, Mac Knappenberger, as well as a number of cousins and many friends who considered her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, infant Harry, John A., William L., and Richard A.; her maternal grandparents, Fernand and Bertha Gueslin of Cherbourg, France; her paternal grandparents, Harry and Jane Miller; a great niece, Rose Knappenberger, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Charlene’s joy for life and the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora 339, Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, July 25, 2025. A private graveside service will be held in Bear Creek Cemetery with The Reverend Alan Morris, Senior Parochial Vicar of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, officiating. A celebration of Life/Open House will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Millerstown Inn, Chicora. The Women of the Moose will conduct a memorial service for their departed sister Friday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
