Chili/Soup Cook-Off To Help Local Veterans Organization

Passion for Vets, a local veterans organization is currently looking for people to enter their soup/chili at the Clarion Mall. The soup/chili with the most votes will win a prize. 

The Soup/Chili Cook Off will be held on Saturday, February 7th and will be held from 11 am to 2 pm at the Clarion Mall.

For $5.00 the public is welcome to come and sample and cast your vote for the best soup or chili.

You can also purchase a cup for $3 or a bowl for $5.

The event will also feature a Chinese Auction, bake sale and a 50/50 raffle.

The fund-raiser will benefit Heartsmith Homestead and Passion for Vets which was founded four years ago by two army veteran wives. Their goal; to provide veterans with more assistance and resources. “In our quest we have learned of many resources that we can provide to those veterans and their families. We also send care packages to soldiers that can’t come home for Christmas. Their families are welcome to reach out to us with the addresses. We send both stateside and abroad.”

Passion for Vets has raised money by having two-three Rummage Sales a year, craft shows, and Chinese auctions. The group is currently selling chap Stick with their information on it.

Passion for Vets will holding their first rummage sale of this year on Saturday, March 28th from 9 am to 5 pm. Both events are going to be held at the Clarion Mall.

Heartsmith Homestead is a local homestead in Sligo PA.
