After attending Christian Life Academy for 13 years, Carmondy Johnson, daughter of Samuel and Jennifer Johnson, was announced as Valedictorian on May 30, 2026, at Commencement.

Earning Principal’s List every nine weeks of the school year came with its challenges but now grants great rewards. The previous evening, Carmondy received the James M. Henderson Post 32 American Legion Award, The Kim French Memorial Servant’s Heart Award, the Venango Ready Completion certificate and cord, and the Nathan A. Weaver Scholarship.

Nathan Weaver went to be with the Lord in January of 2022 and was a graduate of CLA and Grove City College. In honor of Nathan’s dedication to mentoring young men in Scouts, church, and his community, a four-year scholarship was formed for CLA graduates who plan to attend Grove City College. Instead of focusing on GPA’s, test scores, or income, the Nathan A. Weaver Scholarship requires graduates to commit to being mentored by a respected older man or woman in Christ. Since the scholarship’s inception, seven young men have received this scholarship, Carmondy being the first female.

Miss Johnson plans to attend Grove City College in the fall, majoring in Social Work, joining alumni (including her parents), family, friends, and classmates who are celebrating GCC’s 150th anniversary. In the words of the late Dr. Morledge, “It’s a great day in the Kingdom.”
