Are you a landowner that is responsible in some way for stream crossings on your property? Join the Clarion Conservation District for a Stream Smart Road Crossing Workshop on Thursday, May 15th from 9:00am - 4:00 pm at the DEP Knox District Mining Office (White Memorial Building, 310 Best Ave. Knox, PA). This workshop introduces the principles of “Stream Smart” when considering the replacement or construction of a road stream crossing. StreamSmart works with contractors, landowners, engineers, and other professionals responsible for road-stream crossings like culverts and bridges to construct crossings that maintain fish and wildlife habitat while protecting roads and public safety. Stream Smart crossings also help municipalities and other road owners prepare for the large and frequent storm events that have been washing out roads around the state. This training is FREE, and lunch will be provided, but you must register by contacting Alicia Ramsey at ramseyccd@gmail.com or 814-393-6139 or contact Scott Koser (Trout Unlimited) at scott.koser@tu.org.
Join the Clarion Conservation District, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and partners for a program titled, “Let’s All Go Fishing”, on May 31st from 8am-2pm at Clear Creek State Park, in Sigel, PA (Shelter #1 and #2). This event will be a field day of learning hands-on fishing skills! Our goal is to make fishing more accessible and help new and returning anglers alike get into fishing our beautiful PA streams and lakes! Free lunch and fishing gear raffle. Adults and children ages 10 & up may attend. No experience needed. Register by May 9th. To register, go to www.clarionconservation.com/events.
