Clarion County Garden Club

The Garden Club of Clarion County held a meeting on June 10, 2025, hosted by Clarion/Clarion-Limestone members at DJ’s Nursery in Transfer. Past President Darlene Hartle, opened the meeting; 16 members and one guest were present. 

The business meeting commenced after lunch. The committee reports were:  Civic Development: clean-up and planting of the Riverhill and the Blue Star Memorial marker were completed with the help of many volunteers. A donation of $500 was approved to the Alley Cats in Clarion. Clarion County Recycling Day will be held July 12th Clarion County Park for electronics and household hazardous waste only. Registration required.

Dennis James, the owner of DJ’s Greenhouse talked about plants and concentrated on ones that were deer resistant. Members enjoyed walking around the nursery grounds and purchasing some plants.

The July meeting will be held at Zack’s in New Bethlehem with the Fryburg group hosting.
