Conservation Grants Availablefor Clarion County Farmers

(Clarion County, PA) – Are nutrients and/or soil from your farm going into nearby waterways?

Funding is available to help! The Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP) is a cost-share program that provides financial and technical assistance for the implementation of best management practices (BMPs) on agricultural operations within the Commonwealth to reduce nutrient loading and soil erosion impacts to local streams and rivers.

BMPs are structural and agronomic methods that have been determined to be the most effective, practical means of preventing or reducing sediment and nutrient pollution from farm operations.

Examples of eligible BMPs include: Cover Crops, Livestock Stream Crossings, Riparian Buffers, and Grazing Plans.

Applications will be due Spring 2026. ACAP applications are brought to a local advisory group (LAG) for review and ranking. Operations located in priority watersheds that have a resource concern will be prioritized.

Pre-application farm visits are required. Contact the Clarion Conservation District today to schedule a pre-application site visit. To schedule a site visit or request application assistance, please contact Matt Kerr at 814-393-6018 or 814-221-1941 (cell) or email mkerrccd@gmail.com.
