Creed L. Moore, 82, of Karns City, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, September 13, 2024, at the Chicora Medical Center.
Creed was born in Bruin on July 5, 1943. He was the son of the late Creed Addison and Flora “Flossie” Viola Maxwell Moore.
He was a graduate of Fairview Twp. Karns City High School. Creed was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed at Koppers, later INDSPEC in Petrolia for nearly 40 years. Creed was an avid hunter and a well-known hunter’s safety instructor. He enjoyed deer hunting and most especially hunting rabbits with his beagles.
He is survived by his son, Timothy L. Moore, and his wife, Jennifer, of Bruin; his grandchildren, Kayla Moore of Portersville, and Tabitha Moore and her fiancé of Pittsburgh; two great-grandsons, Lucian and Alastar, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet J. Robb Moore, whom he married in Cabot on July 13, 1965. Mrs. Moore passed away on November 20, 2015. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Donald Evans.
A private graveside service officiated by the Rev. Beverly Roscoe, pastor of the Karns City United Methodist Church, and military honors will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia.
