David A. Maus, of Kennerdell, Pa., age 73, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2026, with his wife by his side.

David was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late William J. and Patricia (Burley) Maus.

Arriving in Erie in 1967, Dave quickly adjusted to his new life. He was a proud graduate of Cathedral Prep class of ‘71 and enjoyed lunching with fellow ROMEO’S. To everyone’s amazement Dave secured a degree from IUP and began his illustrious career in Virginia with Newport News Ship building. Mergers and international contracts took Dave to Ohio, Idaho, Virginia, and New Jersey which allowed his family, their international travels. Dave finally retired at the age of 51 as a senior V.P. of HR for Northrup Grumman.

For 21 years, Dave found his paradise on the Allegheny River where he happily entertained family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his daughter, Erin and his beloved Sprout; brothers, Thomas D, & Donald J; sister, Mary Pat Maus; sister-in-law Laura (Boetger) Maus; In-laws, William and Beverly Feehley, and nephew, Mark Allison.

David leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Alice Feehley-Maus; his siblings, Diane, Dan (Linda) and Tim Maus, Cindy (Russ) Sage, Paula (Adam) Cameron and Joe Welsh; In-laws: Kathleen Allison, Bill (Mary), Mark and Michael (Susan) Feehley, Carol Whelan (Brian Mischler), and Maggie (Bill) Heintz. Uncle David will be greatly missed by his 11 nieces and 9 nephews for whom he had unconditional love and enjoyed their visits to his wilderness wonderland. Most were aware he considered himself an original deadhead.

Dave will be missed by all who knew him but hopefully we’ll find peace knowing he is finally reunited with Junior and Sprout.

Funeral services were held at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc., West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St. Erie, PA last Wednesday. Burial was private.

Memorials may be made to Kennerdell Vol. Fire Dept., C/O 487 S. Tunnel Rd., Kennerdell, PA 16374 or a charity of one’s choice.
