Dennis E. Weeter

Dennis E. Weeter, of Hilliards, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 24, 2026, following an extended illness.

Born on December 25, 1943, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, Dennis was the son of the late Roy H. and Eva Courson Weeter. He grew up near Emlenton and graduated from Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in 1961. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served until 1965. He remained a proud Marine throughout his life.

Dennis began his career with American Hardware Supply, which sparked a lifelong connection to the hardware business. Over the years, he built and operated Eau Claire Hardware and later retired from Slippery Rock Hardware.

Dennis enjoyed hunting on trips to Wyoming and Colorado and fishing on the Great Lakes; experiences that provided him with many stories to share back home. Later in life, he found pleasure in weekly crossword puzzle contests with local hardware patrons and reading. As his health limited his mobility, he enjoyed riding his side-by-side across the property visiting friends and family. In recent years, he spent many hours “helping” his good friend John Thompson restore a Firebird for his son, Brice.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Milly Farren Weeter, whom he married on August 3, 1968. He is survived by his son, Brice (Keri) Weeter of Milton, GA, and his daughter Lanie Weeter of Hilliards, PA. He adored his “Grand Girls” Charlotte, Victoria, and Evelyn Weeter, all of Milton, GA.

He is also survived by brothers Larry and Kevin Weeter of Fort Worth, TX, Ronald (Sondra) Weeter of Marietta, OH, and his sister, Lorena Hoffman of Mt. Vernon, OH, numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Robin (Debra) Weeter and many cousins, including Priscilla Nepher, whose family stories he always enjoyed. Dennis also cherished time spent with his close friends Alan Fitzsimmons, Dennis Wiles, and John Thompson.

A celebration of life will be held at the West Sunbury American Legion in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, on September 20, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Military honors will follow.
