Dennis M. “Denny” Foust


Dennis M. “Denny” Foust, 81, of Sarver, a former Chicora resident and retired businessman, passed away peacefully at his home late Monday evening, November 13, 2023, in the company of his loving wife and family.

Dennis was born in Butler on January 16, 1942. He was the son of the late Earl Dean and Opal Gilbert Foust.

He was a 1960 graduate of Karns City Area High School and earned a business degree from Robert Morris College.

Denny was a longtime member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in the Village of North Oakland and had most recently been a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport. In his early years, Denny had been employed at Pullman Standard in Butler and was the well-known owner/operator of Chicora Distributing.

Denny was an avid golfer and sports fan and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Thelma M. Waltman Foust; two daughters, Kris Ann McNabb and her husband, Ron “Mack”, of Lower Burrell and Lory L. Ellenberger and her husband, Brad, of Karns City; his grandchildren, Dylan Grazier (Katie) of Warrenton, VA, Austyn Hartung (Noah) of Clatlett, VA, Aubrey Quigley (Jason) of Bristow, VA; Brady Ellenberger (Dana) of East Brady, and Bryce Ellenberger (Celeste) of Chicora; four great-grandchildren, Tanner and Heath Hartung and Jackson and Rylan Grazier; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerry Robinson, Lois Williams, Ruth and Clarence Schiebel, and Edna and Nelson Barger, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Robinson, and a brother-in-law.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in the Village of North Oaklalnd, with the Rev. Matt McClain, church pastor, officiating. The interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
