
Dora Beth Hovis, 48, of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle accident on SR 38 in Butler County.
Dora was born in Franklin on December 1, 1976. She was the daughter of Donna Kagle Bartlett of Parker and the late William “Bill” Barlett.
She grew up in Emlenton and St. Petersburg before moving to Knox and graduated in 1995 from Keystone High School. Dora had most recently been employed as an in home caregiver to Mr. Lindsley Dunn of Emlenton.
Dora was a homebody. She loved her dogs, “Tinkerbell, Booger, and Tank,” and spending time outside and keeping busy with projects around the house, collecting stones for crafting and volunteering with Passion for Vets. She looked forward to vacationing with her family.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Hovis; three sons, Aaron Stephens, Adam Hook, both of St. Petersburg and Ryan Hook of Knox; a sister, Melinda L. Swick of Elwood City; several aunts and uncles, who loved her dearly, as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins; two step-daughters and their husbands, Elisha and Jim, and Tabby and Joe and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg, from Noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2025. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 3 p.m.
