Doris Jean Pietropoli

Doris Jean Pietropoli, 83, of Grove City, formerly of Knox, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Born on December 5, 1940, in Sligo, Doris was the daughter of the late Emery and Bessie Best.

Doris graduated from Keystone High School.  She was a member of the Mercer-Butler County Spinners and Weavers Club and attended the Grove City Senior Center.

On August 9, 1957, Doris married Richard Cope who preceded her in death; she then married Aldo Pietropoli who also preceded her in death.

Doris enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family.  She loved God and looked forward to her daily Bible study with her sisters.  She attended the Word Alive Church in Ellwood City.

Doris is survived by her children Vivian (Bill) Irwin of Knox, Valarie Morrison of Grove City, Jay Cope of Grove City, Kay (Wesley) Biddle of Ellwood City, Ray (Lora) Cope of Coudersport; her grandchildren Patrick (Deana) Irwin, Dan (Victoria Best) Irwin, Jesse (Katie Hanlon) Morrison, Cassie (Ryan) Lilly, Mariah Biddle, Meghan (Travis) Simpson and great-grandchildren Bronson, Hayden, Karson, Evalyn and Addison Irwin; Benjamin and Eli Morrison; Cooper and Parker Lilly and Braydyn and Garrett Simpson. Also surviving are Doris’ siblings Kathryn (Gary) Myers of Girard, Dianne (Michael) Thompson of New Brighton, Roselyn Ingraham of Fowler, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn Ave., Knox.  Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Gail Davis of the Word Alive Church officiating.  Interment will be held at the St. Paul Union Cemetery in Knox.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Knox Public Library, PO Box 510, Knox PA 16232.
