Eleanor J. Hogan Delaney, 92, of Petrolia, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
She was born on April 18, 1930, in Kaylor, PA the daughter of Nellie (Greenawalt) Zavilla.
Eleanor graduated from Karns City High School. She was a longtime member of Queenstown United Methodist Church where she was a treasurer for over 40 years. Eleanor enjoyed planting flowers and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband, James L. Delaney, whom she married on July 17, 2010; her son, Larry Hogan and wife, Laura of East Brady; daughters, Linda Weigle of Butler; Sandy Zeitler and husband Joseph of Kennerdell, Susie Bowser and husband, Ab of Kittanning, and Amy Tascarella and husband, Dan of Gadsden, AL; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Eleanor is also survived by her brothers, Clarence “Bud” Bishop of Fairview and Frank Zavilla of Sarver, and her sister, Marilyn Pittman of Richmond, VA.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Clayton Hogan, whom she married on April 23, 1948, and who passed away on Jan. 22, 2008; granddaughter, Jennifer (Hogan) Hicks; and a brother, Paul Lee Zavilla.
Friends and family will be received from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Queenstown United Methodist Church, 267 Queenstown Rd., Karns City, PA with Rev. Floyd Barnhart officiating.
The interment will be in Bradys Bend Cemetery, East Brady, PA.
