On August 4th, the 77th annual agriculture event of the year will be happening in Butler County.  That is right ladies and gentlemen, the Butler Farm Show.  This is your chance to see the efforts of so many in one location.

To celebrate those amazing individuals involved in our agricultural community the Butler County Farm Bureau Women’s leadership has come up with Farmer Trading Cards.  Our 3rd series will debut at The Butler County Farm Show.

Farmer Trading Cards are meant to advocate, educate, and promote Butler County Farm Bureau members and their involvement in the community.  As part of our Planting for the Future learning series, we are concentrating on Farm to Table concepts that help the community truly understand where they can get their food.  Women’s leadership wants people to realize how spending habits impact the local community. Supporting your local farmers and their families by getting your food at local farmers markets makes a huge impact. Farmer Trading Cards help put a face to a farm. In some cases it puts a face to the people who make the magic happen.

Series 3  of the Trading Cards is designed to celebrate the journey from The Big Butler Fair to the Butler Farm Show..  The individuals and farmers who live the lifestyle of farming and take time out of their everyday lives to showcase their farms.  The three beef farmers and three Dairy Farmers we choose for this series leave their farms to spend a week at Farm Show.  They answer questions, they shovel maneur, and they let strangers touch their animals.  These are the true heros of Farm Show, the farmers.

We have nine cards in Series 3. You can collect them all at The Butler County Farmshow. If you are interested in finding out more or becoming a member of the team who supports the farmers,  then follow  County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership facebook page.  Series 1 and 2 are available at Buy Local Support Local Businesses in Butler County and don’t forget to tell them, “Crazy Mary” sent you.
