Georgia M. “Peg” Morrow


Georgia M. “Peg” Morrow, 90, of Fenelton, went to be with the Lord Friday afternoon, September 8, 2023, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Georgia Margaret was born in Buena Vista near Chicora on March 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late George H. and Florence Emminger Barnhart.

Peg was a 1951 graduate of Butler Area High School. In her early years, she had been employed by Butler Stamping. Peg was a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, spending time at the family camp in Port Allegany, and sitting by the pool at home enjoying the company of her grandkids. She was a long-time active member of the Fenelton United Methodist Church and belonged to the churches’ Ladies’ Missionary Society. Peg was at her best when she was caring for others. She enjoyed working in her yard and was well-known for creating beautiful wedding cakes.

Peg was married to Lewis D. Morrow at the Fenelton United Methodist Church on June 27, 1953. Mr. Morrow preceded her in death on January 7, 1999.

Surviving are five children, Terry E. Morrow and his wife, Cindy, Randy G. Morrow and his wife, Rose, Susan K. Stephenson and her husband, Tim, and Christopher L. Morrow and his wife, Nicky, all of Fenelton, and Stacey L. Cypher and her husband, Eddie, of Chicora; a son-in-law, Ed McFarren of Fenelton; her grandchildren, Jill Morrow (Josh Hodak), Jennifer Slagle and her husband, David, Grant Morrow and his wife, Ashley, Tyler Walters and his wife, Kelly, Luke Morrow and his wife, Blake, Cameron Wagner, Emma Morrow, Brandy Waldroup, Misty Jordan, and Kerstin Cypher; five great-grandchildren, Cash and Oakley Morrow, Levi Morrow, Jemma Jo Walters, and Layton Barney, as well as a number of step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, a brother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Morrow McFarren, who passed away December 4, 2022, one sister, five brothers, and a son-in-law, John Martonik.

Friends were received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, and on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 10 – 11 a.m. A funeral service followed from the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Morrow’s nephew, the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, officiating. Interment was beside her husband and daughter at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mt. Chestnut.
