Gerald “Jerry” Harrison, 69, of Fenelton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, June 25, 2025 at his home.
Jerry was born in Butler on December 31, 1955. He was the son of the late William and Katherine Stephenson Harrison.
Jerry married his wife and partner of 47 years Katherine “Kathy” Swartzlander Harrison on August 13, 1977, with whom he raised seven children. Jerry spent his entire career in the oil and gas industry. He was a long time member of the Society of Tribology and Lubrication Engineers, having earned his STLE certification. A devout and charitable man, Jerry was a long time and active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He was the president of the Butler Chapter of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and could be seen every lent working the fish fries at his childhood parish, St. Mary in Herman. While Jerry enjoyed watching the Steelers, golfing, and working in his yard, his time was spent mostly with his wife, children, their spouses, and his grandchildren, to whom he was incredibly devoted. He and Kathy shared the joy of traveling, and were able to experience many countries and cultures together along the way.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, he is survived by his children, Jessica Dickey and her husband, Eric of Butler, Eric Harrison and his wife, Yvette of Shippenville, Kathryn Harrison of Pittsburgh, Valerie Harrison and her husband, Hakan Gurkan of Glenshaw, Stephanie Harrison and her husband, Alex Andrzejczyk of Pittsburgh, Markie Harrison and her husband, Erik Martin of Allison Park, and Alex Harrison of Butler. He leaves his grandchildren, Samantha, Nathan, and Charlotte Dickey, Noah and Nash Harrison, Anthony Andrzejczyk, and Phoebe Martin. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard, Thomas, William, and Donald Harrison, and their wives, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill and Kay, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Harrison, and a granddaughter, Joey Martin.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 2 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 668 Clearfield Rd., Fenelton, with Rev. Matt McClain, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
