Jack A. Chadwell, Jr.


Jack A. Chadwell, Jr., 75 of Rimersburg, formerly of Bruin passed away Wednesday evening, February 1, 2023 at Sunnyview in Butler.

Jack was born in Pittsburgh on September 7, 1947. He was the son of the late Jack A. Sr. and Anna Mae Pearl Alice Gruber Chadwell.

He attended school in Karns City and earned a GED. Jack was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and was a long-time rural mail carrier in Parker. He enjoyed music, hunting, and most especially the company of his “grandkids”. Jack served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Elaine B. Slaugenhoupt Chadwell on August 10, 2022. The couple was married in Parker on October 9, 1971. Jack is survived by a daughter, Jamie Billotte, and her husband, Steven of Butler; two sons, Jack Chadwell III, and Eric Chadwell, and his wife, Dana, all of Rimersburg; a brother, Gordon Chadwell of Butler as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Chadwell.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main Street, Karns City. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 8 pm. Military Honors will be accorded by the Chicora & Brady’s bend American Legion Post. Interment will be at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia,
